Nurse

Job Description:

• Assess patients’ conditions, perform tests and analyze results

• Provide and coordinate patient care

• Record patients’ medical histories and symptoms

• Administer medicines and treatments

• Operate and monitor medical equipment

• Educate patients on health conditions, and explain at home after treatment care

• Work with doctors and other healthcare providers

• Certified Nursing Assistant

• Licensed Practical Nurse

• Registered Nurse

• Nurse Practitioner

• Nurse Midwife

• Nurse Anesthetist

• Traveling Nurse

Education Needed/Other Requirements:

• College associate’s degree in Nursing (2-3 years) or

• College bachelor’s degree in Nursing (4 years) or

• Diploma from approved nursing program (rarer)

• Supervised clinical experience

• State and/or national license(s) and certification(s)

• In some cases, master’s degree in Nursing or doctoral degree in Nursing

• Continuing education courses
