Job Description:

Assess patients’ conditions, perform tests and analyze results

Provide and coordinate patient care

Record patients’ medical histories and symptoms

Administer medicines and treatments

Operate and monitor medical equipment
-
Educate patients on health conditions, and explain at home after treatment care
-
Work with doctors and other healthcare providers

Education Needed/Other Requirements:

College associate’s degree in Nursing (2-3 years) or
-
College bachelor’s degree in Nursing (4 years) or
-
Diploma from approved nursing program (rarer)
-
Supervised clinical experience
-
State and/or national license(s) and certification(s)
-
In some cases, master’s degree in Nursing or doctoral degree in Nursing
-
Continuing education courses
